State News

OK - Gov. Mary Fallin (R) is expected to unveil proposals to overhaul the state tax system and reduce income tax rates when she delivers her State of the State address on Monday, Feb. 6, the opening day of the 2012 legislative session.
CT - Gov. Malloy (D) is slated to deliver his State of the State speech on Wednesday, Feb. 8, the opening day of the 2012 session of the state legislature.
AL - Lawmakers convene in Montgomery on Tuesday, Feb. 7, for the start of the 2012 session. This year's legislative session is expected to run through mid-May.
OR - The 2012 legislative session began Wednesday, Feb. 1. Lawmakers have only four weeks to balance the state budget and tackle any other priorities before adjourning Feb. 29.
CA - The deadline for all bills introduced in 2011 to pass out of their chamber of origin was Tuesday, Jan. 31.
